the cape (3.13.13) - Jake Kiser Photography

On a fall day in Cape Town, the sun unusually bright and the wind characteristically whipping, we rented a car and drove south. The first beach we stopped at was desolate - our footprints the first - as we walked down, not talking, the wind blowing so hard that sand was cutting into our legs. It remains a memory imprinted deeply on us both.

As the sun dropped, we pulled over one last time, watching the oceans relentlessly collide into one another as birds fought to not be pulled into the water.
